FORD CREDIT

Personal Loans

Most commonly used by your high street bank for all sorts of lending. This is the way most people might choose to borrow for a holiday, family wedding, unexpected or unplanned house expenses and so on. We would recommend that this is what you should keep this line of borrowing available for. Not everyone can help you on these items when you most need it, your bank can. But what if you have already used this for a car...?

Ford Purchase Plan

A more traditional form of financing, based around Hire Purchase. You hire the car, for a fixed term, say 3 or 4 years during which you repay the cost of the car, plus interest. At the end of the contract period, you may elect to purchase the car for a nominal 'option to purchase' fee.

Ford Personal Leasing

Also known as flexible leasing but increasingly becoming known as 'Consumer Hire', this plan has been most popular in Ireland in recent years. The car is rented for a fixed period, again say 3 or 4 years. Throughout the term, it remains the property of the finance company, however transfer of ownership can be arranged once all of the fixed term payments have been made.

How to obtain the credit YOU want

It stands to reason that any bank would not want you to take on more than you can afford. Any reputable lender will not wish to advance more than it believes would be sensible. This would not be good for you or for them.

Strict codes of practice have been established within the credit industry, including guidelines on assessment of credit applications. Ford Credit will ask you for relevant personal information, in order to make the decision and Boland Motors will take care of the application on your behalf.

These details can be quickly sent through to Ford Credit's offices and will be checked with other credit information and with information haled on public record such as the electoral role. They will confirm acceptance to Boland Motors directly and we will present you with the fully completed document for the plan of your choice for you to sign.

You will be asked for your driving license or other form of identity, in order to comply with Irish and European legislation in attempting to combat fraud.

Paying your instalments

Most people these days have a bank or building society account and in order to reduce administration costs and make it easier for you, we would ask that you make your payments by direct debit. Most of our customers find this much easier.

Payments can be made by paying in book but you should be aware of the danger of late or missed payments, which could result in late payment letters and possibly a poor payment record.

Early Settlement

Before deciding to settle up early you may ask us to tell you how much it will cost to do so. Each settlement figure is calculated individually, according to a set formula. This has been our policy for a number of years.

The calculation allows for a fair reflection of the true costs of the money for the period which you have used it. You will probably have to pay some of the interest which you would have had to pay if the agreement had run it's full length.

We will be pleased to obtain this figure for you should you wish to consider changing the vehicle at any time. You may also call Ford Credit direct.
